From the Desk of Carol Wood, Executive Director

A SPECIAL THANK YOU!!

This year, as we moved to our new location, we found that electrical work was needed before our office workstations could be installed. We reached out to FD Hayes Electric and spoke with Rowland Cornish, who came right over and gave us a quote. Time was not on our side, but FD Hayes Electric started right away and finished the work so we could move in. As the project neared completion, Rowland let us know that FD Hayes Electric, together with IBEW Local 665 and NECA, had covered the cost of all materials and labor so we could get our office up and running. Their kindness turned a stressful move into a fresh start, and it shows how much local businesses and trade partners care about the people we serve.

A special thank you to Megan Doherty, President of FD Hayes Electric, for her generosity and for her commitment to supporting older adults who serve our community.

We would also like to recognize Pastor Mark McCormick of Mayflower Congregational Church, 2901 W. Mount Hope Ave. Pastor Mark has generously opened the church’s social room to RSVP for In-Service Meetings and the Summer Class for our Foster Grandparent Program. We are so grateful to offer our volunteers a welcoming space that meets their needs and has plenty of parking.

Partners like these remind us that this work is never done alone. When businesses, labor organizations, and faith communities come together, they help our volunteers keep making a difference in Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton Counties. To our friends: thank you for helping us serve our community.
