At IBEW Local 665 in Lansing, our work extends beyond electrical systems and job sites; it’s about building careers and communities. Since 1926, our members have powered Mid-Michigan with skill, pride, and integrity, while helping generations of electrical workers create stable, rewarding careers.
Building Careers Through Training and Opportunity
Every successful project starts with a skilled workforce. That’s why IBEW 665 and our training partner, the Lansing Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (LEJATC), invest heavily in hands-on education. Our five-year apprenticeship program blends classroom instruction with real-world experience, preparing apprentices to handle everything from residential wiring to large-scale industrial automation.
When our members complete the program, they embark on a rewarding and stable career. IBEW 665 electricians earn competitive wages, excellent benefits, and lifelong skills that open doors nationwide. Many become foremen, project managers, inspectors, or business owners. Others stay involved by mentoring the next generation of apprentices.
Powering the Communities We Live In
Our members take pride in helping power the places that make Mid-Michigan thrive. From schools and hospitals to manufacturing plants and municipal buildings, the work of IBEW 665 members is seen throughout the Lansing area.
We’ve helped light up Michigan State University’s campus, modernize state government facilities, and upgrade local hospitals and data centers that serve our neighbors daily. Our work ensures that our community runs safely and efficiently.
IBEW 665 active volunteers donate time and resources to local charities, youth programs, and veterans’ organizations. Whether wiring Habitat for Humanity homes, supporting food drives, or sponsoring community events, we believe in giving back to the people who support us.
Strong Partnerships, Stronger Future
IBEW 665 is part of a partnership between labor and management. The IBEW and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) set the standard for professionalism in our industry. Together, we ensure projects are done right the first time, safely, and on schedule.
This collaboration not only benefits contractors and customers but also strengthens local economies. Every hour an IBEW 665 member works supports families, small businesses, and the tax base that funds schools, roads, and public services. We’re proud to be part of that economic engine.
Lighting the Way Forward
As technology evolves, so does our work. IBEW 665 members lead the way in renewable energy, smart systems, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. We’re ensuring that Mid-Michigan is ready for the future, while continuing to provide the high-quality craftsmanship and service our community has come to expect.
At IBEW 665, we don’t just electrify buildings, we build people, pride, and community. Because when we invest in our members, we invest in the future of Lansing.
